It's September. Stop Procrastinating, it's time TAKE ACTION... It might change your life

I was won in a raffle once.... It's true! And it gave me a life long friend - and changed her life!

I often offer free sessions of hypnotherapy or, as it was in this case, vocal tuition to local charities as raffle/auction prizes. Usually they were won by people who already worked with me and they had their next session for free. However, on this one occasion no-one could figure to who had won the prize. It was a mystery...

A few days later I had a phone call from a number I didn't know and an obviously nervous lady declared that she had won the voucher and wondered if she could arrange to have her prize. I was thrilled to be meeting someone new and looked forward to our session. 

When she arrived it became clear that it had taken a great deal of bravery to make the call. She had deliberated for a long time as to contacting me, even before winning the voucher,  as she loved singing but, like so many singers I have worked with over the years, had had a bad experience where she had been led to believe (erroneously) that she did not have the vocal resources to join a choir. (I could go on about this for a very long time but that's for another blog!)

Even from the beginning of that very first lesson it was clear that this lady had the makings to be an extremely valuable choir member and it was an emotional time for her when I told her this. She had stayed away from singing for so long - but after taking that leap of faith whenever looked back and has not only sung in choirs but also choral societies, cathedrals and opera choruses. 

And has become a very dear life long friend of mine !

She took the leap of faith and now has achieved beyond her wildest dreams...

September is the start of the new academic year. A time when lots of people think about starting something new and this September I would like you all to be brave - like my friend.
